Mars on Nov. 27

Turbulence was very good when I checked and adjusted collimation earlier in the evening but deteriorated around 7:30. Turbulence varied between poor to fair and there were high thin clouds when Mars was on the meridian just before 1 am. It be great to get some good seeing to pick up sharper details but that was not to be last night.  I used C14HD scope, 2X Barlow, and Zwo 462MC camera. Gain set to 240; exposure to 4.932 ms. Acquired 520×480 images for 6 minutes at about 143 fps so 51,345 frames. Stacked and aligned the best 10% with AutoStakkert, and sharpened with Registax6. Photoshop Raw Filters used to denoise, adjust contrast, and haze.

Mars is now 17.1 arc sec across. It will reach the maximum of 17.2 arcs on Nov 30.
