Rosette, California, and Horsehead Nebulas

It was fairly clear last night so I put the Hyperstar on the C14Edge so I could have fun doing EAA stuff. EAA is similar to deep sky astrophotography except that no post processing is done. Final image is what was on the monitor (other than being resized and cropped). Equipment used: Starizona Hyperstar, IDAS NBZ Ultra filter, C14 Edge HD scope, Zwo ASI 6200MC camera, Paramount MX+ mount. SharpCap’s live stack tool used to acquire, align, stack, and enhance the images.

NGC 2237, “Rosette Nebula” and open cluster NGC 2244 in constellation Monoceros. Stack of 10 images with gain of 350 and 60 sec exposure. Dark subtracted and flat corrected.

Collimation is close now but not great. Back focus is pretty good but stars look slightly elongated — though that might be from collimation. The light box I built has some problems — corners have hot spots. Need to add some baffles.
