Hi Vern,

Dropping in to say "Hello". Real nice shots of Mare Crisium. Charlie and I observed it in sunset Friday Night/Saturday morning. The terminator was further east though with some fantastic shadows across the floor and relief along the capes.

Having stopped by Andrew's blog, I saw the your comment and link to the solar archives. Those are some phenomenal imgaes. As you suggested, it's time to start saving.

Andrew, thanks! I agree -- it is generally overexposed. The details on the left are washed out. There is such a wide variation between light and shadow on the terminator that finding the right combination is hit or miss, especially around 2:30am. I\'ll definitely try again, I rather like the narrow strip along the terminator. Next time I\'ll try to go about 2 more webcam fields north and maybe 4 or 5 to the south.

We\'re socked in again with clouds right now though its supposed to clear sometime after midnight. There were reports in our local astroclubs mail list of some seeing 5 - 9 meteors an hour last night. I slept in, one all nighter is about all I can manage at a time.

Hi Vern,
Very nice shots!!.It looks like the shot might be just a tad overexposed?.Hmmmm, maybe it is just my monitor?!.HAHAHAHA
I could only wish to get such close up shots like that.
GOOD JOB hope to see more!.
I'm glad that you finally had decent skies for imaging. The skies here are cleaning up a little but,now we have a lot of wind. Are you going to have your scope out during the meteor shower?.
