Saturn on Feb 21, 2006
Last evening the sky was clear, transparency was very good, and turbulence was good as well (6/10), and the temperature was around 25°F. Image was taken with Celestron Nexstar11, Televue 2.5X Powermate, and Phillips Toucam 740K webcam. Cassini division is quite prominent now. Some banding was visible in the eyepiece as well.

Thanks Rob!
The weather cooperates occasionally and I manage to get a reasonably good one now and then. I’d about given up on Saturn since its past opposition. The rings are supposed to better positioned in March than they will be for 20 years. I may have to keep at it.

Hi Vern,
I meet you last night at the star party at FRCC. And was lucky enough to see Saturn and its rings with your help. Absolutely amazing! Just wanted to say thanks for sharing.

Jasmine,
Nice meeting you! We always have a great time at public events showing folks planets, galaxies, and other objects for the first time.
