The moon on Dec 24, 2005
The moon from early this morning, shortly after 6 am, lunation is 22 days. I got up around 5 and set up the scope, hoping for clear, steady skies as the jet stream was supposed to shift east of us. Not so, it was partly cloudy with thin clouds everywhere, temperature was 32 deg F, with 1-2 mph wind — though it seemed a lot colder. Turbulence was only fair, between 5 and 6/10. Image taken with Celestron Nexstar11, 0.62 focal reducer, and Canon 300D camera (ISO 200, 1/200 sec shutter).

Merry Chistmas to all!
